The Taft Bulletin is published three times a year, in April, September, and December, by the Taft School and is distributed free of charge to alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends of the school.

Issues from Fall 2009 onward contain class notes, but are password protected. The password is distributed with the electronic version of each issue.

Upcycling Coffee Byproducts

Taylor Love ’93

Taylor Love ’93 cofounded Husky Ag that is developing biofertilizers using upcycled coffee byproducts. The biofertilizers are primarily aimed at helping small-holder Latin American coffee farmers—who are most affected by fertilizer prices and climate change—and will also be available for growers in the U.S.

Julianne Torrence ’87

Julianne Torrence ’87 continues to help serve the needs of troubled youth through her work at CJR in Litchfield, Connecticut. As the director of performance and quality improvement, she ensures that real changes and opportunities are made possible for the many youth CJR serves.

Steve Porter ’97

As chief product officer for Pet Loyalty, Steve Porter ’97 combines his tech background with his animal welfare work. Pet Loyalty makes software for animal shelters, and their digital tools help shelters manage fundraising, intake, adoptions, volunteers, and foster programs.

Shivani Tibrewala ’96

Shivani Tibrewala ’96 is on the rise on the Indian theater and the cinema scene and beyond. In addition to hundreds of performances of her plays and writing screenplays for film and television, she was also lyricist for the blockbuster movie musical Music School.
