EDGEWISE
New Play by Eliza Clark '03 Opens July 25

GRITTY, COMEDIC THRILLER AT THE STUDIO AT CHERRY LANE THEATRE

Playwright Eliza Clark's gritty, comedic thriller, EDGEWISE, premieres this month at The Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre. The production will run July 25-26, July 29-August 2, and August 5-9. Press opening will take place on Saturday, July 26.

Working at a New Jersey burger joint in the midst of World War III, three suburban teens find their safety compromised and allegiances tested when a bomb raid blows a hole in their restaurant, and a bloodied stranger stumbles in the door. In a world where terror reigns and international alliances hang in the balance, these teenagers deal with the unknown the only way they know how—by tying it up. Savagely comic and exceptionally timely, EDGEWISE explores the trials of American adolescence in a post-9/11 world.

Playwright Eliza Clark's work has appeared at the Provincetown Playhouse, at Yale University and in the NY International Fringe Festival. Her plays, The Metaphysics of Breakfast (2005), Hiccup (2006), and Puppy (2007), were featured in the Yale Playwrights Festival performed at Yale Repertory Theatre three years in a row. While at Yale, she was mentored by Richard Nelson, Keith Bunin, Rolin Jones, Donald Margulies, Toni Dorfman, and Deb Margolin. Recent work includes a commission from Yale O'Neill Studio.
