Win 11-4
Taft traveled to finish the season at Hopkins. Taft let up the first goal of the game on the first shot off the draw. The Rhinos remained calm and kept their focus answering with 6 goals in a row. Goals were scored by Hartley Messer, Elliot Adair (2), Anna Koziol and Julia Kunzelmann. Hopkins got themselves back on the board with 2 minutes to go in the game, but Taft was able to answer quickly with a goal by KG Foley. With multiple goal scorers Taft was able to show off their many threats. After the first draw, the midfield took control of the game earning most of the draws for the second game in a row. Margot Odden lead the team with 6 draw controls and 3 groundball controls. Taft’s Defense lead by Pearl Young, Ally Anderson and Caroline Martin kept solid scoring chances low for Hopkins and made the work of the goalies a bit easier.
In the second half Taft started with a solid push knowing they could not rest with just a 5 goal lead. Julia Kunzelmann earned the first goal of the half to help set the tone. Hopkins responded with a goal of their own. Keeping the pressure high, Margot Odden scored her first goal of the game on an assist by Julia Kunzelmann just 1 minute later stretching the lead to 9-3. Hopkins was able to bring the score to 9-4 but Taft had two more to finish out the day. One by Elliot Adair and a teammate.

The starting attack should be proud of their transition defense as they created turnovers and made it difficult for Hopkins to move up the field. Importantly this helped the defense get into settled defense often and play a defensive gem.

It has been a good season and with such success with such a young team, there are only good things ahead.
