Girls' Soccer - JV
Overview
Overview
The growth in popularity of soccer at Taft has meant the formation of three teams. Comprised of varsity and junior varsity levels, the Taft girls’ soccer program emphasizes player development and maturation. Taft believes heartily in the upward movement of its JV players to contribute at the Varsity level.
Improving skills and technique, field awareness, and the demands of high school athletes are at the center of importance to the JV squad. While there is an importance put on winning, the emblematic ideal of the JV squad is for its players to develop. Every player gets playing time in every game to gain valuable game minutes and practice in needed areas of improvement.
Although some may choose not to, it is a mission of the JV squad to prepare girls to try out for the varsity team at the onset of each season. Several former JV players have had tremendous impacts at the varsity level in recent years.
