Hockey - Girls' III
The thirds team provides girls with the opportunity to learn how to play ice hockey. Whether they are brand new to the sport or in need of some additional skill development, players learn and practice in a knowledgeable, supportive atmosphere that is also fun. They play a full interscholastic schedule of games against many of Taft’s Founders’ League rivals and club teams. A standing tradition is their spirited match-up against Taft faculty members at the conclusion of the season.
Coach Cassano graduated from Union College where he played as a goal tender on their highly competitive club team. He comes to Taft from Poly Prep Country Day School where he coached the varsity boys' hockey team. He will be a part of the baseball coaching staff in the spring.
Though Coach Bracco's first love is the other type of hockey (field hockey), a sport she played at Dartmouth College, she grew up playing pond hockey and has participated on several club ice hockey teams. While at Taft she has served as assistant varsity field hockey coach, lacrosse coach, and yoga instructor.
