Counselors promote the wellness of Taft students by providing emotional support and guidance. Individual students meet with counselors in order to gain insight, develop coping strategies, and effect change in their lives. School counselors also coordinate with health providers and support services, consult with deans and faculty members, and contribute to the emotional health and well-being of the school as a whole. If a student prefers to meet with a counselor outside of Taft, the Counseling Director can help facilitate a referral. The school does not offer psychiatric services.
Where, When, and How to Find a Counselor
The Counseling offices are located in Main Building, adjacent to the Moorhead Academic Center. Counselors are available for scheduled appointments Monday-Friday during the school day. Students who would like to meet with a school counselor can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Students may also be referred to counseling by advisors, deans, health center staff, friends, or parents. If you are in crisis and a counselor is not available, please go to the Health Center.
