Although the school now has two indoor artificial ice rinks, students are still known to play hockey on Potter's Pond, as they did when Horace Taft first moved the school to Watertown in 1893. Mark Potter '48, a longtime art teacher at Taft and hockey afficionado, was always the first person out on the ice.
