Year Appointed: 1976
Linda graduated from Middlebury College with a major in English and a minor in American Literature. She went on from Middlebury to earn a master’s degree in teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University.
Because Linda enjoyed summer camp counseling, playing team sports, and spending more time with her students than one class period per day allowed, she knew that a boarding school position was a natural fit. She joined the faculty of Taft in 1976.
Since then, in addition to teaching, Linda has taken on various administrative duties, including class dean, dean of faculty, director of the library, and head of the English department. Her coaching duties included varsity field hockey and varsity volleyball and supervision of the outdoor program. She is now a full-time teacher with occasional time off to work on special projects such as the school’s 10-year accreditation.
Linda’s husband is Assistant Head Rusty Davis, and her daughter, Eliza, is a member of the Taft Class of 2012.
