Although Jen does not need an introduction to the Taft community, her return to the faculty, after a seven-year leave to raise her and Jack’s three boys, deserves a welcome. She graduated from Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, and was, in 2007, voted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame. After Roland Park, she earned her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin, where she major in math and minored in economics. While there, she served as a tour guide, calculus tutor and camp counselor; additionally, she played varsity field hockey and squash and captained each of those teams for two years; and she even played a year of varsity lacrosse. On the field hockey field, she earned National All-American honors in 1992. During the summer prior to her senior year in college, she served as an intern in the Taft Summer School; and after graduating from Bowdoin, she returned to Taft in 1994 as a teaching fellow in math. She then, over the course of the next nine years at Taft, taught math, served as a section leader in two courses, mentored a teaching fellow, coached field hockey, squash and lacrosse, served as assistant athletic director and worked in a girls’ and a boys’ dormitory. During this past year, she tutored students in math as well as for SATs and ACTs.
