Eileen attended St Lawrence University where she majored in English and minored in theatre. At St Lawrence, Eileen earned Phi Beta Kappa honors and graduated magna cum laude with honors in English. Upon graduating, Eileen moved to the Mississippi Delta to teach English, speech and theatre classes at a high school in rural Arkansas as a Teach For America corps member. Following her two-year commitment, Eileen continued her involvement with Teach For America in various capacities including program director in the Connecticut region and School Director at the Philadelphia training institute. She completed her graduate study in literature at Boston College where she also taught courses as an adjunct faculty member in the First Year Writing program. Upon returning to teaching full time, Eileen taught for six years at Fairfield Warde High School in Fairfield, CT and worked as an adjunct instructor in the Literature Core program at Fairfield University. Eileen has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the English Speaking Union of the United States of America for further study at the East/West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii and Oxford University respectively. As a four year student at Taft, Eileen sang with both Collegium Musicum and Hydrox, acted in several mainstage theatrical productions, and played Varsity Field Hockey and Softball. She is delighted to be back at her alma mater as a faculty member. At Taft, Eileen teaches English, serves as a dormitory associate in USGD, and coaches field hockey and softball. She recently completed her Master of Education degree at Columbia University.
