After graduating from Brown University with majors in history and the classics, Brendan entered the teaching profession in Jacksonville, Florida. He then received a master’s degree from the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University.

At Taft, Brendan teaches history and Latin. He is a member of the American Classical League and the Classics Association of New England. He has completed coursework at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome and the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. He is head coach of girls' crew and assistant coach for girls’ volleyball. He is corridor head of HDT3.
