Dan came to Taft from Avon Old Farms. He got his start in education at his alma mater The Gunnery ’89, where he worked in the Admissions Office, the classroom, the library, the dormitory and on the playing fields for two years. In the fall of 1997, he took advantage of an opportunity to become a full-time history teacher at Avon, where he taught four sections of history: two sections of United States History and two sections of Advanced Placement United States History. While at Avon, he also assumed many different athletic responsibilities. In the fall and spring seasons, he served as the head coach of the cross-country team, was an assistant thirds’ soccer coach, and assistant track coach.
Over the last four and a half years at Taft, Dan has taught the Atlantic Communities course, United States History and works in the Admissions Office. He is the head boys’ varsity hockey coach, JV boys’ golf coach, and is an adjunct faculty member of CPT 4. During his free time, he loves to spend time with his wife Caroline and their two boys Ryan and Liam at their summer home on the southern coast of Maine. In addition, Dan is currently completing an MA in history from Trinity College and enjoys training for road races and triathlons with fellow Taft faculty members and the Kennebunk Beach Triathlon Club.
