Tsar is a professional commercial photographer, art educator, and exhibiting artist who joins the Taft faculty while Yee-Fun Yin is on sabbatical. She holds a B.A. from Amherst College and an M.F.A. from Hartford Art School. Over the past 20 years, her work has been widely exhibited throughout the country and has appeared in numerous national and international publications. In 2015 Tsar received the prestigious Artist Fellowship in Photography from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for her work titled “The Light Under the Door.” In 2016 Tsar was recognized as on of 13 photographers selected for the Photographic Resource Center Exposure project. Tsar’s work has appeared in a number of juried events, including the Review Santa Fe, a premier international portfolio event. In additional to her commercial and creative projects, Tsar has also shared her expertise and passion for photography at the university level teaching workshops at Salem State and New England School of Photography. At Taft, Tsar will teach four sections of photography, help with school duty, and live in nearby Bethlehem with her dog, Sandy.
