Garrett is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall and Yale University, where he received both his B.A. and M.A. in Classics, with honors in Greek and Latin Literature. At Yale, Garrett was a Willis Hunt Scholar and his exceptional work in Classics was honored with the Buchanan Winthrop Prize for Greek Translation and the Henry A. Hurlbut Prize for Latin Translation. Garrett also served as a Yale Classics Department tutor, worked as a Yale Reunion Clerk, and played for the Football Club of Yale University, the most competitive level of club soccer in New England. For two summers Garrett taught Classics and English, as well as worked as a residence hall advisor at the Choate Summer Program. He also tutored middle and secondary school students in Classics, English, and mathematics and participated in cultural immersion programs in Siena, Italy and La Coruna, Spain. At Taft, Garrett will teach Latin; will coach boys’ fourths soccer and boys’ fourths basketball; and will reside on HDT 3.
