Student Work: Kacey Klonsky '07

November 28 to December 6, 2006

Kacey Klonsky is a senior photography student at the Taft School. In 2006, she received a Poole Grant from Taft for two weeks in southern India to work with the non-profit organization Life on Lenses; she was an assistant in filming a documentary on the class of Untouchables. The inspiration for the film, extraordinary women from ordinary circumstances, came in India from a woman named Amma. Amma was a pupil of Ghandi who has dedicated her life to gaining land for the Untouchables in Thuruvarur India. Kacey's photographs reflect her view of the experience.
