Coach Biography: Peter Frew
Pete brings years of experience as well as an intense love of the game to his job as coach of the Boys' Varsity Tennis Team. He has been playing tennis since childhood, and was captain of the Taft 1975 team and winner of the George Gould Tennis Award. He went on to captain Middlebury College's 1980 tennis team. After Middlebury, he worked as a tennis pro and played on the international satellite circuit. He has been certified by both the USPTA and USPTR with a Pro-1 rating.
In his 35 years of coaching tennis, he has coached New England champions and nationally ranked juniors some of whom have gone on to play professionally. Most recently the Taft tennis team won the Founders League, placed first in the Southern New England Tennis League, and second in the New England Team Championships.
