NESCAC Standout Hits Again

Former Taft Baseball standout and current Colby College third baseman Mike Mastrocola was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Baseball All-Conference Team, earning first team honors.

 
Mastrocola distinguished himself at Colby by raising his batting average every season, including a 60-point jump to a team-best .390 this year. He also had 25 runs scored, four doubles, two triples, two homers, a team-best 34 RBI, a .530 slugging percentage, and a .453 on-base percentage. The Colby senior finished his college career with 120 hits, a .333 batting average, 74 runs scored, and 87 RBI.
  
Twelve players including Mastrocola made the roster for this year’s NESCAC First Team. In addition to Colby, other colleges represented on the 2012 First Team are Amherst, Wesleyan, Colby, Trinity Tufts, Bates and Bowdoin.
