Baudinet Tops 1,000 Points

Thomas Baudinet '07 Sets Career Mileston to Start 2010

01/16/2010
The basketball courts at Taft were no strangers to the Baudinet family.  In his time at Taft, Thomas Baudinet - one of four Baudinet brothers to play for the Big Red - proved that he was one of the best players to grace Taft's courts earning the Tri-State MVP distinction in his senior year.  His prodigal scoring abilities persisted as he continued his career at St. Anselm College after Taft.  On January 12th, 2010, Baudinet scored a career-high 40 points, just the 10th such performance in school history.  Despite having a career with truncated season due to injury, Baudinet become the 43rd player in school history to score 1,000 points.  This accomplishment is a testament to the amount of time he has dedicated to basketball over the course of his career.  In only his junior year with a good portion of the season left, Baudinet looks to move up the All-Time list at St. Anselm.  Coach Dickson says of his newest 1,000 point scorer: "Tom has an incredibly quick release and finds shots during a game unlike any player that I have ever coached."  In the Hawks' 15 games this season, Baudinet has been high scorer 10 times.

Recognition is not unfamiliar to the former Taft star.  To start the 2009-2010 season, Baudinet was named a preseason All-American honorable mention.  The invitation to the team came as a result of Baudinet's named Second Team All-Region and Third Team All-Northeast 10-Conference in just his sophomore year.  However, Thomas' long list of accolades is not limited to basketball arena.  His 3.46 GPA as a history major has earned the former Taftie the label as one of the league's top Student Athletes.

Baudinet led the Hawks on a postseason run last season to the conference semifinals, a performance that earned his a spot on the All-Tournament team.  Currently at 9-6, Baudinet looks to improve on St. Anselm's prior postseason runs.  The task is not small as the Hawks are currently ranked in the middle of the pack in Northeast 10 Conference.
