Miller Elected Captain

Nyasha Miller '08 Named Captain of St. Lawrence Volleyball as a Junior

9/23/2010

Alum Nyasha Miller '08 was no stranger to the volleyball court when she came to Taft.  After just two years at St. Lawrence, she is making the same splash for the Saints as well.  After just two seasons playing for her new school, Miller was named co-captain of the St. Lawrence Volleyball squad for 2010.  In addition to the leadership, Miller's numbers are impressive in their own right.  In her rookie season, Miller had 307 kills and 46 blocks on her way to a Second-Team All-League selection in the 2008-2009 season.  Her production in her second season for St. Lawrence was a bit different.  Only playing in 85 games (compared to 125 the year before), her kill total fell to 218 (third for the Saints) but her dig number climed all the way to 178, earning fifth on the squad.

It is clear that St. Lawrence, 11-2, is putting together an impressive season behind Miller's all-round play and leadership.
