Taft’s Girls’ Soccer Program has been a part of Taft Athletics for over 30 years. The Varsity team competes in the Western New England Prep School Class A League and has had many appearances in the New England Finals. In the 2004-05 season, the squad made the final and the 2005-06 campaign saw a quarterfinal appearance. Taft’s goalkeeper coach on staff provides specialized training in all facets of goalkeeping duties.
The team is guided under two basic yet important principles: preparedness and hard work. It is a mission of the program that upon graduation every girl playing Varsity soccer will be prepared to play collegiate soccer. Whether they choose to play beyond or not, graduates will be physically and emotionally ready to be move to the challenge of any college program.
Over the years, Taft Girls’ Soccer has placed many players in some of the top programs in the country on the DI and DIII levels. These include Lehigh, University of Denver, Emory, and Colby among others.
