Boys' Varsity Basketball vs Kent School

Score/Result: 62-49 W

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Playing the third road game in four days, Taft traveled to Kent to take on an athletic Lions squad Wednesday.  After the first eight minutes, Kent built a 10 point lead as the Rhinos were on their heels and the Lions were taking full advantage.  After spending a timeout, the Rhinos regrouped and began to defend with a purpose.  As a result, over the last 8 minutes of the half, Taft only surrendered 4 points and built a 31-27 advantage.  The second half was more of the same as the defense was swarming.  At the offensive end, Taft found great balance pounding the ball inside the paint and knocking down open looks from behind the arc.  Kade Kager was perfect on the day hitting every shot he took to finish with 14 points.  Joey Flannery scored 22 on 9 for 15 shooting from the field and Quinton Dale added 13.  With the 62-49 victory, Taft improves to 15 4 on the season and will close out their four game road trip on Saturday with another tough match-up at Loomis (4:00pm).
