The Rhinos returned to the .500 mark with a road victory at Williston-Northampton. Taft jumped out to a 19-5 lead and then hit a prolonged offensive dry spell before closing out the half with a 13-5 run to take a sixteen point lead into the locker room. When the hustling Wildcats could not cut the lead to single digits in the second half, the Big Red cruised home. Morgan Manz led all scorers with 23 points to go with seven rebounds. Also pulling down seven boards was Rylie Mainville, who hit five of six free throws and finished with 7 points. Madison Haskins buried all six of her foul shots and had 8 points, five steals and three rebounds, while Maggie O’Neil filled up the box score with 9 points, five caroms, five steals and four assists. Dominique Moise tossed in three perimeter jumpers, Chelsea Robinson ripped down four rebounds and went three for four from the line in limited action, and Lauren Drakeley rounded out the scoring with a nifty back door lay-up. Taft will try again to break into winning record terrain in its rematch with Choate this weekend.
