The Boys’ Varsity Golf Team opened the 2013 season in impressive fashion on a summer-like day the Yale golf course. We have been opening our season at Yale for at least 35 years, and today’s total posted by the team established a new medal play record that will be hard to match in the years to come.

Senior co-captain Henry Wesson posted and even-par 34 to earn medalist honors, which should certainly give him plenty of confidence moving forward this season. Also impressive today was our team’s depth, with four scores coming in at 36 or better. A terrific start for the team, and with Choate and Northfield Mt. Herman coming to Watertown on Saturday, the team will have to continue to work hard to improve in practice the next two days.
