Taft 0- GA 5 Loss
Taft 4-Hotchkiss 1 Win
Taft record 7-1
Taft traveled to Round Hill in Greenwich, CT today and came back with one win and one loss. From the reds the 73.4 rating and 133 slope combined with the beautiful weather provided us with great golfing conditions. Hotchkiss had a solid team, but we were a bit stronger and came back with the "W". However, GA was a powerhouse! They were very strong in every position. Playing GA is always an exciting match and our team looked forward to it knowing it was going to be very competitive. Taft looked great in their team uniforms, but by the end of the afternoon, the gators beat us solidly. We will have a chance to see them again in two weeks at a neutral course and hopefully a few more putts will drop for us. In the mean time, we will stay focused and continue to work hard and have fun. A post game dinner at The Blazer helped to make us feel better!
Jackie Eleey shot 38 and took her match to the last hole. She a great up and down on the 5th making a curvy 7 foot putt. Legare Augenstein putted well, but wants her approach shots to be a bit more accurate. Pen Naviroj had a good up and down on the 9th hole and was happy with her putting. Alice Kim played well right to the end and sunk a great putt on the 6th hole. She was proud of her shape drive on 8th, a 369 yard Par 4. Morgan also putted well and came back after being 2 down to tie the match before falling 3 down. Nicole Lu had a great bunker shot on the 9th hole in her exhibition match. We don't like to lose, but even in this defeat we appreciated the opportunity to play on a beautiful golf course, on a beautiful day, against two good golf teams.
