Boys' Varsity Track vs Loomis Chaffee School

Warm weather finally returned to Weaver Track for the Taft Boys meet versus league rival Loomis on Wednesday. The meet featured several very close finishes, and the teams battled back and forth all afternoon. While the team from Loomis ultimately prevailed, there were numerous outstanding performances for Taft. David Berment (Long Jump, 200M), Adam Parker (Javelin), Alex Huard (100M), Fernando Fernandez (Discus), Troy Moo Penn (Pole Vault), Shane Hardie (High Jump), Buolo Jonga (Triple Jump) and the 4X400M relay team of Charlie Vallee, Tommy Grant, Al Nejmeh and John MacMullen led the way with first place finishes. Nadir Pearson ( Long Jump and 300M hurdles), Petey Colon ( Javelin), Parker (Shot Put), Nejmeh (400M) and Hardie (110M hurdles) all scored critical points while placing second. Rounding off the scoring for Taft,  MacMullen (800M), Percy Algarate (110M hurdles), David Wolff (Shot Put) and Parker (High Jump) earned third place finishes. A tri-meet versus Brunswick and Kingswood at the Weaver Track is up next for Taft on Saturday.
