ATKA THE ARCTIC WOLF VISITS TAFT![]() ATKA IN BINGHAM AUDITORIUM As part of an ongoing series of speakers this school year devoted to reflecting on human interaction with the natural world, Taft hosted a representative of the Wolf Recovery Project from South Salem, NY. Along with a presentation, Atka, an Arctic gray wolf came on stage and walked the aisles of Bingham Auditorium for students to view first hand. The first half of the program included an overview of the mythology, biology, and ecology of wolves. Presenters also discussed the history of wolves in the northeast and the status of wolf recovery across the United States. The second half of the program presented Atka to the audience and was followed by a question and answer session.
