Chemistry teacher and Science Department Chair David W. Hostage has received the 2008 NEIC Secondary School Chemistry Teacher Award from Connecticut.

"This award is given to teachers who have encouraged an interest in the field of chemistry through innovative and inspirational teaching, improved the image of chemists and chemistry, promoted extracurricular activities relevant to chemistry, and offered opportunities to students who might otherwise miss the 'chemistry' experience," explains Ralph Buonopane, PhD, president of the New England Institute of Chemists.

The award is made annually to a secondary school teacher from each of the New England states.
