Focusing on Service over Spring Break

Orphanage Outreach, Dominican Republic

March 2007

On March 10, 18 students and three faculty members embarked on a one-week journey to live out the school motto in Monte Cristi, located in the northwest region of the Dominican Republic. Our group quickly bonded, and through hard work, laughter, and sweat, we provided valuable service to the orphanage and the community.

We taught English at two local schools, and performed different work projects at the orphanage. At the same time, we learned a great deal about our host's culture and history.

As one student said, "Pictures can't capture the amazing scenery, people, and work we have done here. It has been an amazing experience."
