June 28, 2009 – July 31, 2009
The Taft Educational Center has been providing outstanding workshops for public and independent school teachers and administrators since 1976. Over the years of the Center's operation, we have worked with teachers from all fifty states and more than fifty countries. Our first-class facilities, and our teaching staff of master teachers from high schools and colleges, have produced highly successful programs in an educationally exciting environment. This summer five separate week-long sessions will run from June 28 to July 31. Teachers, department heads, Advanced Placement coordinators, curriculum developers, and heads of schools should request and budget funds for summer work as soon as possible.
Registration

Registration by June 1 is required! To register for any of the workshops, send the registration form with full tuition payment for each workshop payable to Taft Educational Center. Visa, Master Card, personal checks, school checks or Purchase Orders are accepted. Registration and full tuition payment will be accepted in the order they are received. Enrollment and dorm space are limited; please register early to avoid disappointment. You will be notified by
e-mail when your registration is received. Information on registration hours, transportation, and directions to Taft will be available and
emailed to you once a workshop is confirmed. You will receive an email once your workshop is confirmed to run. The Instructor letter and confirmation letter will be mailed to your home address. Please do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets until your workshop is confirmed.
Tuition and Other Charges
Tuition, which includes accommodations and meals at Taft, is $1050 per week for boarding participants; for commuting participants, $800 per week (including lunches only). There is no extra charge for accommodations for boarding participants who remain at Taft during the weekend between workshops. We cannot provide accommodations for non-participants. Please call for information on our overseas programs.
Cancellation Policy
Workshop participants who have registered by June 1 may receive a full tuition refund if they make a request in writing before June 1. All cancellations received on or after June 1 will be subject to a $200 cancellation fee. If a cancellation request is made on or after June 1, Taft Educational Center will accept a replacement participant from the same school. "No-shows" will be responsible for full tuition fee payment. Participants in workshops that are cancelled by TEC for any reason receive full refunds.
Graduate Credits and Grades
The Taft Educational Center is pleased to continue our association with the University of Hartford as our graduate credit-granting authority. Each week at TEC will be granted three graduate credits by the university. Each participant will receive a grade for a completed workshop, but graduate credit is optional for an additional fee. The University of Hartford has set this fee at $100 per graduate credit for 2009.
Continuing Education Units
The Taft Educational Center is approved as a provider of Continuing Education Units by the Connecticut State Department of Education. For each week of successful academic work, the Center will grant 3.0 Connecticut CEUs. A number of other state Departments of Education will accept Connecticut CEUs for accreditation purposes.
