Robert Taft '06 is elected to the U.S. Senate. Later, he is one of five senators chosen to be represented with a portrait hanging in the Senate Reception Room of the Capitol Building, along with John C. Calhoun, Henry Clay, Robert La Follette, and Daniel Webster. Deane Keller '19 paints two portraits of the senator; the second hangs in the lobby of Horace Dutton Taft Hall.
