Meet Anfisa

Where are you from?

I was born in Moscow, however I associate myself by being from both Russia and Serbia.

How did you first hear about Taft?

I first heard about Taft by searching online, and finding the Niche website which filled me in on different boarding schools. 

What made you choose Taft?

I was immediately drawn to Taft, from the beautiful campus, to the diverse community of students, to the boundless opportunities in academics, arts, and athletics, Taft offers students space to grow as a whole person.

What is it like to be an international student at Taft? 

Being an international student at Taft opens up opportunities to experience different traditions, cultures, and perspectives. I am able to exchange opinions with people with life experiences from different countries and corners of the world, all in one community. 
 

What has been your favorite class so far, and why?

AP Economics, is a class that challenges students academically and dives deeply into different areas and market sectors. It allows students to gain a greater understanding of our world’s current events and the logistics behind them. 

What is your favorite spot on campus?

Jig patio!

What has been your most memorable Taft moment so far?

Hotchkiss day, where the Taft community unites to celebrate our strengths, and support one another, while expressing love and admiration for our school. 

What do you love most about Taft?

Taft is a place where you are able to express your true self in a community of diversity. I learn and grow from the perspectives of the people I encounter each day.

What does it mean to be a Rhino?

To be a Rhino is to be a part of a greater community in which you are surrounded by boundless opportunities. It means uplifting others while being able to grow and thrive as an individual.
