Where are you from?

I am French-American and I live in New York.

What made you choose Taft?

I chose Taft because I was attracted by the strong academics with the prospect of being a part of a big, diverse, and tight-knit community. 

What is it like to live and learn with other students from across the globe?

At Taft, I am surrounded by people from all over the world. This allows me to not only see more perspectives, but to gain an appreciation of many different cultures and to make friends in the dorm, the classroom, and on the soccer field, or the tennis court.

What activities do you participate in on campus?

I participate in Taft sports and in a range of student run programs. Some of these are the Quizbowl Club, the Foreign Films Club, the Taft Financial Society and the Geo Club.

What has been your favorite class so far, and why?

My favorite class so far has been Human Geography, a class that focuses on humans across the world, and goes beyond numbers in order to give an appreciation for other cultures.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is probably Bingham Auditorium—the thrill of being on stage is one that never grows old. Honorable mentions are the HDT3 common room, the faculty lounge, and the upper soccer field.

What has been your most memorable Taft moment so far?

I have had many moments that I will never forget, but if one sticks out, it would have to be my first day. By dinner that day, I had already made friends and felt included in the community. 

What do you love most about Taft?

What I love most about Taft is the friendships that I have made and will continue to make with people who I am certain will have a large impact on our world. I will keep in touch with them my whole life, and hope that even after we’ve all graduated, our paths will continue to cross.

What does it mean to be a Rhino?

To be a Rhino is to be a part of Taft, cheering for a team or playing on it; everyone plays a role that is valued in the community. It means being surrounded by people who can have fun, but can also have meaningful conversations and experiences.
