Where are you from?
I'm from Kenilworth, Illinois. It's a small town north of Chicago.
What made you choose Taft?
I was lucky to have the choice between attending Taft or Hotchkiss. Ultimately, I picked Taft because of the people. On my revisit day, everyone I met was kind, welcoming, and genuinely interested in getting to know me.
What activities do you participate in on campus?
I'm a captain of the crew team, school monitor, and sports-commentator for boys’ varsity hockey. As an underclassman, I played JV football and fourths basketball.
What has been your favorite class so far at Taft?
My favorite class at Taft is computer science with Mr. Leong. Every assignment we do feels like a puzzle, and I get to work on the problems with two of my close friends. Taking this class heavily influenced my decision to major in computer science at college.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
The jig pat in the early fall or late spring.
What has been your most memorable Taft moment?
Saving my dear friend, Matthew Vogelstein, from choking on his bacon egg and cheese.
What do you love most about Taft?
Definitely the people. At Taft, I've made some incredible friends that I'll have for the rest of my life. I've also had amazing teachers, dedicated coaches, and caring dorm parents—all willing to go out of their way to help me succeed.
What does it mean to be a Rhino?
To contribute to the Taft community in your own, individual way. And to have fun in the process.
