Matthew is a graduate of The Rivers School and Bowdoin College, where he earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics. At Bowdoin, Matt played varsity soccer, where he was honored as the team’s Rookie of the Year, its Most Valuable Player, and as a team captain. Off the field, Matt contributed in many ways to the Bowdoin community. He was a calculus tutor, a teaching assistant for America Reads and Counts Tutoring, treasurer of his residence hall, and the coordinator of the Bowdoin College Grassroots Soccer Tournament, a non-profit event that uses the power of soccer to connect young people all over the world. At Taft, Matthew will be a Penn Teaching Fellow in Mathematics; an assistant coach for the boys’ varsity soccer, thirds’ girls ice hockey and boys’ JV lacrosse teams; and will reside on HDT 2.
