Biography:

Heather is an Emmy Award-winning director and producer with 20+ years of experience in the film and television industry. After studying film and television production at Boston University, Heather moved to Los Angeles where she worked in film, television, and new media production at Warner Bros., Universal, CBS, and NBC Studios. During her time in LA, Heather worked on countless television shows and pilots including The Drew Carey ShowNorm, and Friends. Prior to coming to Taft, Heather was executive producer of video originals at Connecticut Public Media/ PBS where she developed and oversaw production of original content. In 2019, Heather was awarded a regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing. In 2021 Heather won a Gracie Award for Directing from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation and she was nominated for a regional Emmy Award for the documentary series Cutline in 2021 for which she was the series producer. When she’s not behind the camera, Heather enjoys playing gigs with her band, hiking with her family, trying her hand at new art mediums, learning about sustainable living, volunteering at animal rescues, geeking out over new media technology, and, of course, watching movies. Currently at Taft, Heather teaches film and digital production and is a dorm parent in Vogelstein where she lives with her husband, Rob, their two children, and their dog, Dolly.
