After earning her master’s degree in mathematics, Stacey moved to Turkey, where she
lived for three years, teaching English and raising her young son. She moved back to the U.S. to complete her Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where her research was in theoretical ecology and applied mathematics. After finishing her degree, she worked as a writer and editor for a technology website for four years and, recently, as an associate editor for two education journals. At Taft, Stacey teaches math. She lives on campus with her husband Matt, a Spanish teacher, son Eren, and their two dogs, Turbo and Winter.
