Originally from Roxbury, Massachusetts, Mr. Gales began his career at Bowdoin College as an admissions counselor. He assisted with yield admissions events, and travelled to the states of Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina to name a few. Most importantly, he navigated the college process for underrepresented and low-income students from all over the nation through the Explore Bowdoin fly-in program. After spending time in college admissions, Mr. Gales wanted to make a greater impact on the students he assisted, especially BIPOC students and families. With this in mind, he joined the college counseling office at Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, before transitioning to The Taft School in 2024. He has In addition to his work in the college office, Steffon participates seasonally in the Taft Theater program, which brings a great amount of joy to his work as an educator. He is a proud husband, improvisor, board game player, actor, and an ordained Christian leader. 

Mr. Gales holds a B.S. in Secondary Education-English and minor in Theatre from The University of Maine at Farmington and a M.A. in Christian Ministry from Grand Canyon University.
