Dr. Jessica Pierpont is the Director of Choral Activities at The Taft School, where she leads the Choral Arts and Collegium programs, continuing the legacy of Bruce Fifer. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Vermont Academy of Choral Music (est. 2016), which includes the Vermont Chamber Artists and Vermont Girls Choir.

An experienced conductor, educator, and professional singer, Dr. Pierpont has worked with collegiate, professional, and community ensembles across the U.S. and Canada. She has taught choral conducting at McGill University and Vermont State University–Johnson, where her courses integrated international travel and leadership through music.

Her work includes creating the virtual 4ward Voices lecture series during the pandemic, fostering global conversations in music education and innovation. As a choral singer, she has performed with groups such as The Church of the Advent, ProCoro Edmonton, Les Rugissants, and the Bach Festival of Montréal.

Dr. Pierpont holds a BA in Piano Performance from Castleton University, an MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona, and a DMus from McGill University, where her research explored choral leadership and the evolution of treble choirs.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, producing music for dressage freestyle, and spending time with her fur family—her dog, Jethro, two cats, Blake and Freya, and her horse, Babe.
