Profile - Taft School

About
More than a century has passed since Mr. Taft founded our school. While the world and the school have changed dramatically, his fundamental values endure: work hard, without regard for public acclaim; develop all your talents: academic, artistic, and athletic; and most importantly, give of yourself to others.
Admission
“The Taft Admission office seeks students who will infuse our community with intellectual and social curiosity, while embracing a joyful balance and a steadfast commitment to excellence in all they pursue.’’Amanda Bohnsack, Director of Enrollment
Academics
Our students develop the skills, knowledge, and habits of mind to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and responsible global citizens.
Arts
Success in the Arts is bred of self-confidence; a fearlessness or joy in the process, more than the outcome.
Athletics
In building one of the most successful athletic programs in New England, Taft coaches promote fair play, respect for opponents, a love of the game, competitive spirit, and team loyalty.
Campus Life
Taft is a school with heart. Our sense of community is strong, and extends to every aspect of campus life.
Giving
Taft has been built, brick by brick, through the collective generosity of generations of alumni, parents, families, and friends.
Living Our Motto
Not to be served but to serve is more than our motto, it is the underlying principle that shapes our perspectives and guides our actions every day.
