Elizabeth, who is better known as Baba, earned a Bachelor of Arts in human geography from Middlebury College and a Master of Arts in Spanish language and literature at the Middlebury Language School. She has traveled extensively in her native Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean (most recently Cuba) and has studied at the Universidad de Barcelona, where she spent a sabbatical year with her husband, Director of Admission Peter ’75, and children, Amanda ’05 and Max ’10. Baba currently teaches AP Human Geography and Spanish and serves as co-director of the Global Leadership Institute. She is deeply committed to the community service program at Taft. She coordinates the after-school program and works closely with the student led Community Service Council to offer students the opportunity to become involved in a variety of service projects in both the local and global communities.
