Biography:

Rachel’s first stint at Taft was as an athletic training intern while she was a student at Central Connecticut State University, where she maintained dean's list status, was a Golden Key National Honor Society member, and recipient of the Joseph Abraham District I Scholarship. She served as president of the athletic training club and graduated with high honors in May 2006. Following graduation, Rachel worked as a certified athletic trainer with HealthSouth sports medicine and physical therapy, and worked at Avon Old Farms. She is a member of the National Athletic Training Association, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and the International Association of Kenisiotaping. She maintains her EMT license, recently became certified in the Kenisiotaping methods (CKTP), and is certified as a Specialist in Fitness Nutrition (SFN). She plans on becoming a certified strength and conditioning specialist. She resides in Waterbury with her rescued pit bulls, Cali and Simon.
