Brianne graduated from Boston College with an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy. Through her graduate work, she was awarded the prestigious IRCHSS Doctoral Research Fellowship. She lived and studied in Ireland, where she completed all of her doctoral coursework; she is now in the process of completing her dissertation on the death and burial customs of Ireland. At Taft, Brianne is the Chair of the History & Global Studies Department, in which she teaches History and Economics, and directs the Global Studies and Service Diploma program. She is also the Director of both the Global Leadership Institute, a co-curricular public-private partnership with the Greater Waterbury Area, and the Taft/PAL Summer Enrichment Academy, a free summer enrichment academy for Waterbury middle schoolers. She co-chairs the Global Studies and Service Committee and is faculty advisor to The Papyrus. In 2024, Brianne was appointed to The Littlejohn Family Chair. She lives on campus with her husband and four children.
