Biography:

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Edie attended Wesleyan University, where she received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Letters and a master’s degree in history and social sciences. During her undergraduate years, Edie played for the Cardinal’s field hockey and lacrosse teams, serving as captain of both teams during her senior year. Before joining the Taft faculty in 2006, Edie worked for Carney, Sandoe & Associates and Holderness School, where she served as the history department chair, dormitory head, wilderness program leader, and varsity head coach. During her years at Taft, Edie’s roles involved teaching across the history and global studies departments, leading ISP and Congdon dormitories, deaning the lower middler class, and coaching field hockey, squash, ice hockey, and lacrosse. In 2023, following a decade as the Dean of Faculty, the school appointed her Assistant Head of School for Faculty and Academics. Edie is currently in her final year of Vanderbilt University’s Ed.D. program.
