Biography:

Lauren graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a minor in psychology. She earned a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University in 2008 and completed postgraduate training in family and couples therapy at the Ackerman Institute. While in graduate school, Lauren held clinical placements as a school counselor in the Bronx and as a therapist at CancerCare. She later worked as a licensed psychotherapist for child, adolescent, and adult clients at two mental health clinics in New York City. Lauren also served as a field educator for Columbia University and Hunter College, providing clinical supervision and instruction to graduate students. Her expertise includes the treatment of anxiety, depression, relational and family stressors, eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm behaviors, and histories of neglect and trauma. Lauren attended Taft as a day student and graduated cum laude in 1999. She studied Mandarin Chinese for ten years and has lived abroad in Beijing, Harbin, and Shanghai, China. In addition to her role as a school counselor, Lauren serves as the Day Student Advisor. She lives on campus with her husband, Carter Mosch, and their two children, Jack and Ella.
