Sam attended the Williston Northampton School '09 where he played four years of varsity soccer, culminating in a NSCAA All-America Award during his final season. Following his time at Williston, he attended St. Lawrence University '13, graduating with a degree in estudios Hispánicos and a minor in sports and exercise studies. At St. Lawrence, Sam was a four-year starter and two-year captain of the men's soccer team. He holds the St. Lawrence men's soccer record for most points tallied in a single season, sits as the holder of the second most points all-time in program history, and was honored twice as a NSCAA National All-America and once as D3Soccer.com National Midfielder of the Year. Upon completion of his St. Lawrence career, Sam moved abroad to Paderborn, Germany, where he held trials with the reserve teams of SC Paderborn and DSC Arminia Bielefeld. Sam has fluency in German and Spanish, and has worked in youth club soccer and private school education since returning to the U.S. At Taft, Sam will work in admissions, and head the girls' varsity soccer team. Additionally, he will be a dorm parent in HDT.
