Upon graduating from Taft, Tamara attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Biological Basis of Behavior. During her undergraduate years, she also served as a laboratory technician in the university’s medical school, a job in which she extracted DNA and RNA from patient blood samples, performed light cell structure duties to grow human tissues, spliced DNA, and maintained patient sample databases and laboratory stock. After graduating from Penn, she went abroad to Tokyo, Japan, where she taught English to and managed diverse classrooms of adult learners. From there, she moved to Thailand, where she worked for Berlitz English Thailand as an English instructor and seminar leader. Most recently, she has been working as a freelance program developer, becoming expert in a number of design and computer programming fundamentals. At Taft, Tamara will work in admissions as our Director of Multicultural Recruitment, live in Congdon, and coach track and weight training.
