Tate Celebi ’25 is off to a terrific start this fall, leading the way for boys’ cross country. In the first race of the season against Choate and Trinity-Pawling, Celebi led the way with a finishing time of 16:36 — helping secure the victory for the Rhinos, and also tying the fourth-best time of any runner on the Taft course.
To follow up that performance, in the next race of the season, Celebi continued to shine on the course as he finished fourth overall in a field that included 90 finishers from Loomis, Hotchkiss, and NMH, with a finishing time of 16:35 on Loomis’s course.
In the most recent race of the year, Williston Northampton took the trek down to Watertown to face the Rhinos on our home course, where Celebi again continued to shine. Tate finished the race in second place, with a finishing time of 16:03, placing him third overall on the Taft course, and the fastest time for any Taft runner. With his time of 16:03, he also beat the previous Taft record by seven seconds, and his previous best time by over 30 seconds.
Celebi and the rest of the cross country team look to continue their success on the course as they will race against Kent this coming weekend, and then will host the Founders League tournament here on campus on Saturday, November 2, before capping off their season with the New England tournament.
