Murphy Captures Girls’ Founders Title, Celebi Finishes Second on the Boys’ Side

On Saturday, Taft played host to the Founders League Cross Country Championship here on campus on our 3.1-mile course. As the regular season wrapped up last weekend on Kent Day, both teams set their sights on the postseason, starting with the Founders League Championship.

The boys’ race kicked off first, with Tate Celebi ’25 finishing second overall in the race with a finishing time of 16:43, Rory McNamara ’25 taking 17th, Malin Adams ’25 and Huck Griswold ’25 placing 23rd and 24th, Will Post ’26 posting a time of 19:01, placing 26th, Eli Arroyo ’26 placing 40th, and Dylan Muellers ’27 finishing with a time of 20:04, placing 46th, to round out the boys’ side of the tournament, placing the boys’ third overall.

The girls’ race kicked off next, with Charlotte Murphy ’25 taking home the individual crown with a time of 18:26, Maya Woodhall ’27 placing 18th, Eleanor Lemon ’26 finishing 27th, Vi Lapham ’27 placing 29th with a time of 23:12, and Sally Higgins ’25, Louisa Prentice ’26, and Farren Camp ’26 placing 48th, 49th, and 50th, rounding out the girls’ side, with the girls’ placing fourth overall.

The postseason continues this weekend as both the girls’ and boys’ will head to Hotchkiss to race in the New England Championship. Good luck, Rhinos!
