Biography:

A native of Brunswick, Maine, Max graduated from Bowdoin College with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. With a passion for coaching and working with young people, he started his career at the Westtown School (West Chester, Pennsylvania), followed by the McLean School of Maryland. At these schools, Max developed a strong foundation and holistic perspective on the college process and how best to help students transition into their lives after high school.

Outside of the academic setting, Max brings a remarkable lacrosse background, having played at a very high level, possessing broad coaching experience, and maintaining an extensive network of partnerships and connections. He was a head coach for NXT Lacrosse Club (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), assistant coach of the 2017 Under Armor Underclass Tournament team (Towson, Maryland), and assistant coach for the 2021s, 2027s and 2030s Next Level Lacrosse teams (Bethesda, Maryland). Most recently, Max coached the 2025 CONNY Command at the New Balance All American Games (Baltimore, Maryland). At the secondary school level, Max was varsity head coach at Westtown School and an assistant coach/defensive coordinator at the Potomac School (McLean, Virginia). In addition to his coaching experience, in 2018, he was captain of the World Championship Philippines National Team, competing in Netanya, Israel, where he led the team to finish 10th in the world. Currently, Max serves as a board member for the Philippines Lacrosse Association and Head Coach for the Philippines National Team, supporting efforts to grow the game globally and compete at the international level.

At Taft, Max serves as an Associate Director of College Counseling and is the Head Coach for the boys’ varsity lacrosse program. He currently lives in Centennial Dormitory with his wife, Chelsea, and their three children.
