Rachel joined the Taft Community in the Fall of ’23 from the Hudson Valley region of New York. Here, she teaches Mathematics, is the dorm head of USGD, and serves as the Varsity Field Hockey Coach. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a bachelors in Adolescent Education with a concentration in Mathematics. In 2023, Rachel led Taft Field Hockey to a NEPSAC Class A Championship and the program's first undefeated season. She was named MAX FH's Connecticut & Northeast Region Coach of the Year. In 2024, the team earned NEPSAC Class A runner up and Beam earned the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association's Under 30 Coaches Award. This past summer she also had the opportunity to coach for USA Field Hockey at the Junior Olympics. In the winter, she coaches strength & conditioning.
